11 SPRING 2015 6. What do you see will be the dominant trends in the next 5-10 years? One of the biggest trends I can see in the industry is how cars are becoming more than just a means of transportation. They are becoming technology hubs. It is evident with the number of technology companies entering the industry; Apple and Google just to name a few. I also believe millennials will have tremendous impact on how we conduct all facets of our business in the very near future. 7. What is the biggest importance of being a GLANCDA member, what makes it beneficial? Being a GLANCDA member helps to keep our involvement with our government officials. We are a lot more engaged with civic leaders and politicians. GLANCDA was formed 40 years ago to help fight the business tax in Los Angeles. 8. Do you have past experiences that help your leadership in GLANCDA? I have served as the President of the Alumni Association at Loyola High School, I have also served on other boards such as the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Support Group. 9. What inspired you to serve as a leader in the Association? What inspired me to serve was the prior service of my grand- father, my father, and my uncle Tim. When I was nominated, I was honored and privileged and eager to serve. 10. What are your priorities and goals as GLANCDA President? What’s in store for GLANCDA in the short term and/or long term? My goal as GLANCDA President is to continue to work with the city on the elimination Business Gross Receipts Tax. Also, a huge priority is to increase our membership ranks to include all Los Angeles area dealers. 11. What is your approach to helping dealers face challenges at their dealerships? Our approach as an Organization, to helping dealers facing challenges is to identify the specific challenge and assist them in finding the person(s) or resources to assist them in over- coming the challenge. 12. Are you involved in any civic or charitable organizations? Our family is involved with several charitable organizations throughout the L.A. area. We tend to focus on educational needs and helping those in severe need. Examples would be Homeboy Industries, Jesuit Charities, and Good Shepherd Shelter. 13. Describe your all-time favorite vehicle (it can be one you’ve owned, or something on your wish list). What are you driving today? My all time favorite vehicle is any Porsche 911. I have a col- lection of LandCruisers and I like to rotate through those as daily drivers. 14. Tell us about your family. I have a wife and 3 kids PJ 16, McKenna 14, and Charlie 9. My wife and I have been married for 20 years and we met in college at Fairfield University. The two boys may be aspiring to be dealers and my daughter would like to go into teaching. 15. What is your favorite way to spend your free time? Any unusual hobbies? We really like spending time together as a family. My kids are involved in a lot of extracurricular activities on weekends, such as lacrosse and swimming, so we like to make it a week- end getaway when we can. I also like to get a round of golf in when I can. Reach your target audience a ordably. advertise get results DANI GORDEN Advertising Sales 801.676.9722 or 855.747.4003 dani@thenewslinkgroup.com
