New registrations in the county increased 11.6% during the first two months of this year. The three month moving average of new vehicle regis- trations increased for the 37th consecutive month in February of this year. Chrysler, Subaru, GMC, Kia, and BMW new vehicle registrations each increased more than 30%. Korean brand share increased from 6.9% during the first two months of 2014 to 7.5% this year. Data measures new vehicle registra- tions in the county. Monthly recording of registrations oc- curs when the data is processed by the DMV. Please keep in mind that monthly registration figures can occasionally be subject to fluctuations, resulting in over or under estimation of actual results. This usually occurs due to processing delays by governmental agen- cies. For this reason, the year-to-date figures will typically be more reflective of market results. It shows the year-over-year percent change in the three month moving average of new retail light vehicle registrations. The three month moving average is less erratic than monthly registrations, which can fluctuate due to such factors as the timing of manufacturer incentive programs, weather and title processing delays by governmental agencies.
