6 www.glancda.org Executive Director’s MESSAGE Bob Smith GREATER LOS ANGELES NEW CAR DEALERS ASSOCIATION Together We Can Accomplish a Lot I n this edition of LA Dealer Magazine, we take a look at Auto Shows and their impact on the marketplace they serve. This is timely information with the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show kicking off on Tuesday Nov.17, which has grown into one of the biggest shows on the planet. We are proud of our working relationship with the show promoting this multi day extravaganza, and hope you will consider attending, and participating in some of the events that are affiliated with the show. Additionally we have some fantastic upcoming dealer Training Seminars that are led by the Task- force for Regional Autotheft Protection (TRAP). These events will be hosted in three locations (West Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, and San Fernando Valley) and are great opportunities to gather information and tips on how to deal with the latest trends in crime that targets automobile dealers. We have partnered with Digital Dealer to offer a workshop at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Tuesday, Nov.24 that will showcase some expert speakers on the many different aspects of Digital Marketing. We hope you will consider taking advantage of this opportunity to send a few of your employees who can end the day by viewing all the latest makes and models of new vehicles that the show has to view. A small delegation from the association will head to Washington DC in late September to meet with area federal officials to discuss some of the most pressing matters that impact the operation of New Car Dealerships. Of particular interest this year is legislation (HR1737) that is geared towards allowing automobile dealers to continue offering the most competitive interest rates on automotive loan. Our legislative efforts on a city, county, state and federal level as an association, continue to be a primary area of focus of the work that we do. We intend to make our collective voices heard loud and clear!!!!!! We have included non-member Los Angeles Area dealerships in the distribution of this maga- zine in hopes of having you join our wonderful association.
