6 www.glancda.org Executive Director’s MESSAGE Bob Smith GREATER LOS ANGELES NEW CAR DEALERS ASSOCIATION Looking Forward I t’s an exciting time for Automobile Retailers, as we finish off 2015 with consecutive strong months that put the total sale of new vehicles well over 17 million units. The Association has grown its membership, and the advocacy work we continue to do is vital to the operating interests of all new car dealers. We look forward to bringing you events, and opportunities, where dealer members can continue to be heard by lawmak- ers and regulators at every level of government. There will be a lot of discussion regarding the role of dealers in continuing to make sure that recalls, and the safety of the consumer is a top priority. The ability to discount auto loans to the customer, and have open dialogue with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau is also going to be a priority going forward. T his year's Los Angeles Auto Show wrapped up at the end of November and was a huge suc- cess. Press Days saw more than 20,000 attendees, and news organizations throughout the world were there covering the 55 debuts. The event was a big boost to the local economy, and has clearly established itself as one of the premier auto shows in the world. We hope you and your families enjoy the holiday season together, and look forward to 2016 and beyond 
