11 Issue 4 2016/2017 O n December 3, 2016 the Automotive Technol- ogy competition for Los Angeles Area High Schools took place at Cerritos College. This event has grown to include 17 schools and is sponsored by the Greater Los Angeles New Car Dealers As- sociation and the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association. The winning team from the northern section for the third year in a row is Van Nuys High School , led by instructor Joe Agruso. The team will represent GLANCDA at the na- tional competition in New York in mid April 2017 that runs in conjunction with the New York Auto Show. This competition intends to promote career opportunities that exist in the New Car dealerships throughout Los Angeles county. Over 100 students participated in The Phase 1 written portion of the competition in October 2016 hosted by Longo Toyota.
