Hosting career fairs for area community college auto- motive students and instructors in late 2018, and early 2019 was a way to create working relation- ship opportunities for all. The events included students from Pierce Community College, Los Angeles Trade Tech, East Los Angeles Community College, Pas- adena Community College, Rio Hondo College, Citrus Commu- nity College, Compton Commu- nity College, Cerritos Community College, and El Camino College. In total, more than 500 Students and 100 instructors came to events in Glendale (October 2018) City of Industry (February 2019) and Cer- ritos (May 2019). These events in- cluded speakers from the industry, videos discussing the careers that new car dealerships offered, and networking time. The chance to then meet with and ask questions of dealership employees, and sub- mit resumes for full/part time op- portunities, was beneficial to all. GLANCDAwill continue these efforts when the 2019/2020 school year begins. There may also be ex- pansion into career/job/networking opportunities for dealership posi- tions other than technician.  GLANCDA’S ROLE IN ADDRESSING THE SHORTAGE OF AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIANS
